How it works

STEP 1

The 3-way catheter is inserted into the patient's vein through a simple day surgery procedure with local anesthetic.

STEP 2

Through the first way the main central balloon is inflated, emptying the vein in the area to be treated. The device is provided in two models to fit veins of all sizes.

STEP 3

vein isolation

The second way allows the inflation of the two external  balloons to complete the interested vein section isolation. This procedure avoids any drug dilution and creates an "empty vein" deflating the main balloon.

Drug Release

Sclerotherapeutic drug is relseased in the vein section through the third way. This allows a controlled drug release on the whole vein wall section for an effective amount of time.

STEP 5

Drug Reabsorption

At the end of the treatment the drug is completely reabsorbed. This mechanism avoids blood drug contamination, preventing any sistemic side effect and easing patient recovery.

Vein recovery

When the vein is drug free, the external balloons are deflated to recover the proper blood flow. The device may be now moved to the next vein section to be treated.
